Checked numbers

Call this number for an ambulance.

We publish a country once its number has been checked against an official source. More countries are added as they are checked. Last checked 5 October 2026.

In the app

The number, and what to say once you are through.

“Something happened?” in the app is free and needs no account. It shows the emergency number for the country you are in, the nearest emergency care, your insurer’s emergency line, and a card in the local language that tells staff your allergies and the medicines you take. Nothing you type is saved.

Questions

Emergency numbers abroad: common questions.

What is the emergency number abroad?

It depends on the country: 112 across the EU, 999 in the UK, 911 in Mexico, 998 for an ambulance in the UAE, 1669 in Thailand. The table on this page gives the number for each country we have checked, with the official source.

Does 112 work everywhere?

112 reaches the emergency services in every EU country, and in many other countries in Europe and around the world. If the number for the country you are in does not connect, try 112.

What if I have no local SIM card?

Rules differ by country. In Switzerland, 112 works from a foreign SIM card and from a prepaid phone with no credit, and in Mexico 911 works from phones with no balance. The free help tool in the app gives guidance when you have no local SIM.
